The Stoller property was a turkey farm from the 1940s through the 1980s. In 1995, we planted our first 20 acres -- 10 to Chardonnay and 10 to Pinot Noir, and we've continued to grow since. The vineyard currently has 180 acres under vine, the majority of which is planted to Pinot Noir.

The vineyards are tightly spaced, with a minimum density of 1,250 vines per acre (5'x7' spacing) up to a maximum of 2,600 vines per acre (3'x5' spacing).

In an effort to ward off phylloxera and curb vigor, all of the vines have been planted on grafted rootstock. The clonal selection includes both tried-and-true varieties such as 2A (Wadenswil) and Pommard, as well as a few rising stars such as Dijon 113, 114, 115, 777, and 667 in Pinot noir and 76, 95 and 96 for Chardonnay.

These south facing, tightly spaced vineyards are planted on ancient Jory soils, the fertile and well-drained red soils that define the Dundee Hills.
