In 2000, Matthias took over the family estate and was soon joined by his brother, Emile, in 2006. They represent the 4th generation of winegrowers at Château de Maimbray.
The estate is composed of 17 hectares of vines divided among approximately forty parcels located primarily on the Terres Blanches (white earth) terroirs of the SANCERRE appellation. 85% of the vines are Sauvignon Blanc and 15% are Pinot Noir. They cover the steep slopes surrounding the villages of Maimbray and Sury-en-Vaux, located 6 km northwest of the town of Sancerre.
