Wolfgang Maitz remains faithful to his beliefs: A wine grower has to carefully attend to his wines versus restrain them. What is it that makes the wines from the Maitz vinery stand out? It is the original fresh taste of the fruit combined with the mineral flavors of the region and last but not least their refined elegance. The family grapevines are deeply rooted alongside the popular wine route in the heart of Southern Styria. The soils of the vineyards can be referred to as a geological puzzle: Bordering sections of lands often differ from each other a great deal and the same goes for their respective microclimates. Hence, the individual wines from the preferred soils all benefit from their unique mineral content.
