For millennia, the majestic volcano Vulture vigils in the area, feeding a simple and spontaneous viticulture, full of small vineyards planted as small tents.
In the seventh century BC the Greeks introduced here the Vitis Hellenica - later pronounced "Aglianico" in Spanish - that found in this land, fiercely inclined and full of ore, the ideal place for bearing fruit.
The magical beauty of these places seduced in the fifteenth century the Albanian refugees, who settled here to escape from the Turkish threat.
They dug long caves in the tufo rock to serve as shelters, creating - in the belly of lava channels - the traditional wine cellars where we still produce Aglianico del Vulture.
In his wines, Basilisco condenses today the spirit of this land,
Its simple but immense wealth, his timeless tradition.
