We take our name from a ridge located on the eastern side of Washington adjacent to the Columbia River. The famed explorers Lewis & Clark named this crest of land as they journeyed down the Columbia River in 1805. From the river, the two adventurers thought the ridge looked like an overturned canoe. Because our estate vineyardis located on the Canoe Ridge, it is the inspriration for both our vineyard and winery name.
