Pronounced Ahn-Your-O

In 2004 we visited Argentina for the first time. I had been a fan of the wines coming from Mendoza and looked forward to tasting the new vintages; seemingly quality was getting better each year.

After two weeks of visiting wineries and tasting it was clear to me the awesome potential of the region. I have been fortunate enough to travel and research and taste wines in every major wine producing region on earth and yet nowhere gripped me like Mendoza.

So the journey began to create a wine that is an expression of the land and people of one of the greatest cultures in the world.

Añoro is a very unique word with no direct translation; it is pronounced Ahn-your-o. In Spanish it refers to the act of reminiscing or dreaming of a great time in ones past. A more literal translation might be Años for year and Oro for gold making it “golden year”.

It certainly seemed perfect for us as we find ourselves dreaming often of the amazing landscape and wonderful people that we have come to know as family and friends.
