Chardonnay 2010

These grapes were whole-cluster pressed directly into a combination of French oak barrels, one third of which were new, and a concrete egg fermentor. Classic wet stone minerality on the nose has undercurrents of papaya and melon etched with ginger, honey and white pepper. The palate's pretty, floral quality and surprisingly soft round mouthfeel balance the crisp acidity. This is the wine for roast chicken and veggies and sea salt encrusted fingerling potatoes.
